WHAT WILL SANDING DO FOR MY FLOOR?
Sanding is perfect for any wooden floor that is showing signs of wear, ingrained dirt and general aging. It will remove these top layers, leaving behind a much fresher looking, cleaner surface that can then be finished in a variety of styles according to your preference.
WHY HIRE A PROFESSIONAL SANDING COMPANY?
Sanding really is something that’s best left to those who have the experience and the tools to get the job done right first time. While it may be possible for DIY aficionados to attempt it themselves, there is no guarantee that any equipment you hire will be suitable for the job. At the West Sussex RH15 Floor Sanding company, we use state-of-the-art equipment, and all of our team are experienced professionals with in-depth knowledge of the nuances of the sanding process.
SHOULD I DECORATE MY ROOM FIRST?
We highly recommend decorating first. This will prevent you from getting hard-to-remove paint on your newly restored floor. Any dust that gathers on your walls can be easily removed with minimal effort.
WHAT DOES A FULL FLOOR RESTORATION ENTAIL?
Restoration is recommended for floors that are truly past their prime. We’ll begin by making any repairs as necessary, and may replace individual floorboards if needed. We may also fill in any gaps between floorboards, thus improving the thermal efficiency of the room. Next we’ll sand the floor as discussed above, before applying the finish of your choice.
HOW LONG WILL IT TAKE?
Generally speaking, an average-sized floor will take a day to sand and a day to finish. However every job varies depending on the extent of repairs needed and other factors. Once we’ve carried out an initial assessment of your floor we can give you an accurate estimate of how long it will take.
HOW MUCH DUST WILL BE CREATED BY THE SANDING PROCESS?
Very little. We use the latest continuous belt sanding machinery, which cuts the amount of dust produced by approximately 98%. We also utilise mobile extraction equipment to further eliminate dust from the environment.
CAN I GET A FEW MINOR REPAIRS DONE?
Of course you can. We can carry out repairs on individual floorboards and parquet blocks, and we can also fill gaps and work on the sub-floor levels.
